Dr. Vera Telyakova earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Toronto and practised as a general dentist for eight years before pursuing advanced specialty training in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia (UBC).
She has completed the clinical and academic requirements for the Diploma in Periodontics and is currently an MSc candidate at UBC. Dr. Telyakova has also served as a clinical instructor at both the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia, teaching undergraduate dental students.
Her clinical interests include the treatment of periodontal disease, soft tissue grafting, regenerative procedures, dental implant surgery, bone grafting, sinus augmentation, and a wide range of periodontal surgical procedures. She routinely performs surgery using 10× magnification and has a special interest in minimally invasive and microsurgical techniques designed to enhance precision, support healing, and improve treatment outcomes.
Dr. Telyakova’s research focuses on the evaluation of the nasopharynx using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). She is committed to providing evidence-based, patient-centred periodontal and implant care while working closely with referring dentists to develop personalized treatment plans for each patient. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Telyakova enjoys fitness, cycling, and realist art.
